THE MIGHTY 8

In reference to an article - about a few Dutch hip-hop-females – that I wrote in cooperation with Daniel J. ashes for FRET Magazine, Arjan Davidse of the NPI asked if I was interested in looking over and working on their latest Unsigned project.

The project represents women: Hip hop & Soul from a ladies perspective. Talented women that have not yet been signed by a record label. With a few women already in mind, I’ve formed a team of creative people around this project; C-Mon as (executive) producer, MAC&MEE for the production (of the tour amongst other things), Daniel J. Ashes for photography, Yousef Gnaoui for the design, Gwen Perotti (TopBillin) for booking, PIAS for distribution and Habbekrats for the video clip (that sadly never came through). The NPI agreed with my proposals, and even agreed with the suggested name.

The seventh Unsigned-CD will appear mid February 2007: The Mighty 8, Hip Hop & Soul from a ladies perspective, with Senna, NtjamRosie, Rosa Ana, Giovanca, Sage, Sabrina Starke, Javlin and Neenah. The Mighty 8 was presented in the Melkweg, Amsterdam.
